Picture Tree International (PTI) is a dynamic international sales company based in Berlin, founded in 2012 and specializing in a curated lineup of up to 15 feature films annually, spanning arthouse to mainstream productions from around the globe. PTI has established itself as a reliable partner with a track record of international success, supporting a diverse portfolio of films that connect with audiences and critics alike.
Founded by Andreas Rothbauer, PTI is jointly led by Co-Managing Director Yuan Rothbauer, PTI offers comprehensive support at every stage of film development, financing, and distribution.
Beyond traditional sales, PTI provides strategic consulting for producers and filmmakers during the development phase, often contributing as a co-producer. With a prominent presence at major film and television markets worldwide, PTI’s integrated business model and range of expertise enable it to craft tailored marketing, sales, and financing strategies that help clients navigate the evolving audiovisual landscape.

Founder / Co-Managing Director
Andreas Rothbauer
Andreas has been in the film industry for more than twenty years in various roles ranging from development to distribution and international sales. Among his acquisition and sales credits are such Academy Award nominated and winning films as 'Downfall' (2004), 'The Lives of Others' (2004), 'Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan' (2007), 'The Counterfeiters' (2007) and 'Il Divo' (2008).
Andreas also teaches financing and distribution at various film schools and workshops and has held several board functions as a member of the Association of German Film Exporters (VDFE). Andreas studied in Berlin, Wellington (NZ) and Rome and holds a Master's degree in audiovisual management as well as a degree (Diplom) in political science.
Co-Managing Director
Yuan Rothbauer
Yuan is an original member of Picture Tree International, joining as the company’s Head of Sales & Operations. In 2017 she was appointed Co-Managing Director. Prior to joining PTI, Yuan headed the international department at Star Image Media Group (SIMG), one of the first and leading theatrical distributors in China. Among her acquisition credits are 'Son of the Mask', 'L’empire des Loups', 'Insomnia', 'Black Book', 'Cellular', 'After the Sunset' and the Academy Award winning 'Pan's Labyrinth'.
